Consulting this ancient technique and practice of divination,
one's own personality is often implicated in the answer of the oracle.

From the Book of Changes, we are reminiscent of the advice given to Socrates 
 -- "You ought to make more music" -- 
whereupon Socrates took to playing the flute. 
It is unlikely that he occupied himself with "lending grace to the beard on his chin,"
as the second line of this hexagram advised.

Provided with the practical results of chance,
there may be no answer to the multitude of problems that arise
if we seek to harmonize the oracle with our accepted scientific canons.

It is all very well to say that the crystal of quartz is a hexagonal prism.
To one person its spirit appears as clear as day; to another, shadowy as twilight.
Let its music go forth into the world,
for the benefit of those who can discern meaning.
